Now Regan has gone from popular princess to total pariah.
The only person who even speaks to her is her former best friend's hot but socially miscreant brother, Nolan Letner. Nolan thinks he knows what Regan's going through, but whatnobody knows is that Regan isn't really Little Miss Perfect. In fact, she's barely holding it together under her mom's pressure. But the consequences of Regan's fall from grace are only just beginning. Once the chain reaction starts, no one will remain untouched...

Especially Regan Flay.

Release Event: Tripp by Kristen Kehoe

Tripp_ReleaseEvent
Welcome to the release event for Tripp by Kristen Kehoe, a companion novel to Life Interrupted. We have some teasers as well as a giveaway of a necklace from Stella & Dot.  Tripp is a Mature Young Adult Contemporary Novel and is now available for sale!

About the Book:

Tripp - High ResolutionBecause there are two sides to every story…

I’ve never been the guy who shied away from taking the ball. I’m an athlete; I thrive on the court, and I thrive in life because I don’t shy away from taking chances.

Except that one time.

Except with Rachel.

I fell in love with my best friend when we were ten, and she almost put her fist in my face when I tried to defend her against a fifth grade bully. I didn’t tell her that day that I loved her, or any of the ones following, because she had proved she didn’t need me, and even at a young age, I knew the opposite was true for me.

I needed Rachel with every breath I took, and it scared the ever-loving crap out of me.

Being the mature young man I am (cough), I tried to ignore it. I dated someone else; I stayed Rachel’s friend and watched her from afar because when you love someone who has the potential to break you into a million unrecoverable pieces, that’s what you do.  You watch from afar and you never reveal your true feelings because it’s safer to hide them than to admit them.

Until it’s not. Until the day you take a step forward and alter both of your worlds completely, only to discover that you’ll never, ever be over her.

This is my story – my story of Rachel and everything I did and didn’t do, everything I said and forgot to say, and everything I felt before and after we made our biggest mistake and walked away from each other.

She told her side – now it’s my turn. I’m including our past, holding nothing back from her ever again, so she better be ready for me.

Mature Young Adult

***This is the companion novel to LIFE INTERRUPTED (The Life series Book 1) released January 2014. It can be read as a standalone, as it is different from Rachel’s story.

-------------------------------------
Excerpt:

“Tripp,” Stacy says. I snap to the present. “Are you ready?”

I wipe my palms on my jeans and nod. “What do you need?”

Following Stacy’s instructions, I walk down the hall into Rachel’s room. The light is on; I can see the small form under the blankets before I peel them away and scoop my arms under her even though she protests. I want her to fight, even prepare myself for it, but right away I see what Stacy’s talking about. There’s nothing inside of Rachel—even as she attempts to thrash in my arms, I barely have to tighten my hold on her while I carry her to the bathroom. The girl who has so often put me on my ass from one punch has no muscle, and worse, she has no spirit.

Nothing about the girl in my arms right now is the Rachel I’ve always known. The lack of fight worries me more than the lack of weight.

Stacy’s already pushed the shower curtain back. I put Rachel inside, ignoring her half-hearted protests as I turn the water on cold and high. When she screams—the real-deal scream full of terror and anger—the vise on my chest loosens a little and I’m so grateful I could break down and weep. My hands are full because she’s putting much more effort into fighting me than she was a second ago. I forget about how cold the water is on my skin, or the fact that she looks like a ghost with dark circles under her eyes and a pasty pallor to her normally warm skin, and I talk to her while I hold her there.

“That’s right, Rachel, fight me. You fight me and you come back. Do you hear me? We need you, Rachel. We need you to fight.” She screams more, shoving at me with her hands, but I don’t budge. I encourage her as I see the color start to slowly seep into her cheeks. “Come on, baby, come back to us. Come back to me.”

I whisper the last part. I don’t know if it was the words or the fact that she’s finally opened up enough to feel the weight of it all, but she breaks—the dam cracking and flooding. Instead of being angry, she’s devastated.

My heart cracks and my lungs seize; she falls into a sobbing heap. I turn the water off and start to lift her into my lap. Whatever I promised her sister, I can’t do it; I can’t watch her break like this.

Don't miss out on Life Interrupted (The Life series #1), available now for only .99 cents for a limited time!

Excerpt:
“What did I miss?”
“Nothing, Daddy. Mom is working on her cake for the baking competition and we were discussing the fair.”
Her father’s face changed from amused to worried, as his eyes darted from his wife to his daughter and back again.
“Oh, that...” he started. “I mean, of course, I understand. You want to go with your girlfriends. It's about time, too. Can't be out there macking on the boys if you're with your old man.” The smile on his lips didn't quite reach his eyes. Marla walked over to her dad and nudged him with her elbow.
“Really, Dad? Who says 'macking' anymore? The girls and I are going to the fair on Saturday. Tonight I'm hanging with my pops.” She reached up and kissed her dad on the cheek, rolled her eyes toward her mom, and ran upstairs to call her friends.
“What did you say to her? I told you it was all right, Andi. She could have gone with her friends tonight. I wouldn't have minded at all.”
She looked up and smiled at her husband; the man she had loved with her whole heart for more than 20 years. She studied his face, trying to determine how much of their conversation he’d overheard. She decided it wasn’t much, so she replied, “Liar.”
He walked around the counter behind Andi and wrapped his arms around her waist. He nuzzled her neck with his nose and kissed her cheek before speaking.
“Actually, I was planning to go with you to the bake-off tomorrow. And afterward, we could get some cotton candy like we used to do when we were first married. You remember... I would try to steal kisses from you on the Ferris wheel.”
“And you still can. But I think it's important that you and Marla keep up this tradition. Besides, I have some serious baking to do, and I do not need you sulking around here all night.”
He stuck his tongue out at her then headed for the stairs. Andi sighed and rolled her head from side to side, stretching out her neck. The bad feelings in her gut had been worsening throughout the day and she didn't think the feeling had anything to do with the baking competition. Getting her husband and daughter out of the house gave her some comfort that they would be safe from whatever was giving her ill feelings. She may not be what she once was, but enough of her old strength remained that she knew better than to ignore her intuition.

Review: Ghost Hand by Ripley Patton

Ghost Hand by Ripley Patton
Publisher: Ripley Patton
Release Date: November 28, 2012
# of Pages: 384
Book Format: e-book
Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Olivia Black has a rare birth defect known as Psyche Sans Soma, or PSS. Instead of a right hand made of flesh and blood, she was born with a hand made of ethereal energy.

How does Olivia handle being the girl with the ghost hand? Well, she's a little bit morbid and a whole lot snarky.

Her mother thinks her obsession with death, black clothing, and the local cemetery is a bid for attention. But when Marcus, the new guy in Olivia's calculus class, stares at her like she's a freak, Olivia doesn't like it. And when her hand goes rogue, doing things she never imagined possible, Olivia finds herself running for her life with Marcus from a group of men bent on taking the power of her hand for their own nefarious purposes.

Meet The Author: (Taken From Goodreads)
Ripley Patton lives in Portland, Oregon with one cat, two teenagers, and a man who wants to live on a boat. She is an award-winning short story writer and author of The PSS Chronicles, a young adult paranormal thriller series.

Ripley doesn't smoke, or drink, or cuss as much as her characters. Her only real vices are writing, eating M&Ms, and watching reality television.

Review:
I was contacted by the author to read and review Ghost Hand. This is my honest review.

To start off, I must say that I am the biggest ghost fan ever. As far back as I can remember I have always loved horror movies, ghost shows, anything like that especially books. So when I was asked to review a book that sounded good, the fact that the title was Ghost Hand just put it over the top for me.

Ghost Hand is about a girl named Olivia who was born with PSS, which is a condition in which instead means she has one regular hand, and one ghost hand. Turns out that she is not the only one like this. Throughout the book she meets quite a few people with PSS. Do these people become like family to her? Or enemies? Find out by reading the book, you won’t regret it.

When Olivia is first introduced she is at school being introduced herself to the new guy, Marcus. She finds him staring at her hand and it angers her quite a bit. Next thing she knows her hand is slithering its way into the poor girl in front of her. Little does she know this is going to lead her on a crazy life threatening adventure, one that she will never forget.

Sometimes its hard to read books when they are all going along with one theme. For example, when Twilight came out, hundreds of vampire books were coming out every day it seemed like. The whole theme was just getting drowned in too many books that were similar. One of the great things about this book is that, as far as I know, nobody has written a book about people having ghostly body parts. Reading this was like a breathe of fresh air, because I had never read anything quite like it.

Patton definitely did amazing things with this story. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times; to where I did get odd looks from people around me, swooning at the same times Olivia did when Marcus was a complete sweetheart, getting angry also when the boys were absolute idiots. Its hard to pick my favorite part of this book, because there were several. The many intimate moments between Olivia and Marcus. The snide remarks from Jason, to Olivia even though they were mean some of them were entertaining.

Overall the book was amazing, I wish I could go into complete detail with you without giving away spoilers. But please read this book, you will love it I promise.

SET IN STONE Synopsis: There is something all too vague about second chances. What happens when your utterly perfect first chance never really ends? What if it’s stolen? Bull-nosed attorney Morganna Sterns knows what she wants. Self assured, powerful, and independent, she finds herself struggling to find balance between honoring what has been stolen, and deciding if her second chance is going to end just as tragically. Steven Warner is a Navy SEAL with nothing to lose. His overt humor and charm paired with his lethal skill set make him a perfect catch--for the right type of woman. His world is littered with relationships, but only one stands the test of time. Competing with a ghost is hard. Especially when that ghost is a teammate: his brother at arms. It’s not, “it is what it is.” It’s what you make it. What you, and only you decide it should be. Navy SEALs never make the same mistake twice. Will Morganna?

Excerpt: *Due to sexual content and graphic language this book is intended for readers 18+* With her rapt, I say, “Sex is primal. Its mouths, hands, sweat, and skin. It’s uncontrollable reactions. It’s tongues, asses, delicious wetness, unbearable connection…it’s absolute and irrefutable fire.” She wets her lips. Shaking my head I say, “You don’t plan sex. Not you. Definitely not me.” I let my hand fall away, stroking her neck before I pull away. She leans into my hand, craving connection. Ignoring my advance, she says, “Why are you doing this now?” Her normally clear voice falters. “It’s not fair. I of all people know fair when I see it. You…” She waves her hand at my body and face and then perches it on her hip. “Are not fair. You’re not playing by the rules. You come at me with your sex appeal wafting like a Yankee candle and confuse me to no end. I don’t get confused, Steven. You are my friend. Friend.” Her accent punctuates every word she speaks. I motion to her body, mirroring her. “I have no need to play by the rules anymore. I did for far too long. There is nothing confusing about what I’m proposing. I’m only wafting the vibes because it’s you.” I smile. Morganna throws her hands up in the air, defeated. “Great. Now you’re proposing things. I need to get out of here. I need some air, I need to breathe. I’ll return a few phone calls.” I see her eyes darting for the exit. I’m losing my grasp. “Only sex,” I growl. “What?” Her head whips to face me, her black hair swinging around one shoulder. “I get it, M. Stone. I get it. We’re similar and you’re trying to push me away because of it. It’s best to stick with the brand of crazy you’re accustomed to. If you weren’t so busy repelling that notion, you’d understand how perfect we’d be together. But if you can’t then please, at the very least, have insanely, amazing sex with me. Don’t have sex with that guy just because you planned to--because you think it will be different. I broke up with Chloe and Sasha as a peace offering…as a way to show you that I want to give us a legitimate try. As fucked up as that would sound to a stranger, I know you get it. You’ll be the only one. I swear. How long have you known me? You know I’m serious.” I thump my fist over my heart.  “No one has to know about what we do except you and I and whatever surface we mutually decide we want to fuck on.”

Don't miss CRAZY GOOD, the book that started it all...

  Crazy Good

About CRAZY GOOD: Before there were bikers, or fighters, or even good old-fashioned jerks, there were Navy SEALs. They put the bad in badass because, well…it’s their job. Navy SEAL Maverick Hart has everything. Women want him. Grown men idolize him. Little boys want to grow up and be like him. The job, the glory—it’s all his. Not because it’s handed to him…because he works hard for it. The second his sights lock on something, he owns it—or destroys it. Unfortunately he does both at the same time. Windsor Forbes only takes calculated risks in her profession and in her personal life. After being left at the altar by the only person she’s ever loved, the very last thing she’s looking for is a relationship—especially the insane brand an arrogant Navy SEAL is offering. Hesitant, yet trusting to a fault, she gives in. She knew she shouldn’t take the chance, especially a second time, but love is irrational and their love is perfect, infallible. Or so she thought… The downfall to having everything is you have that much more to lose. A man like Maverick can’t have it all without something slipping out of grasp. Crazy people perish for love. Good people live for it. Love doesn’t die. No matter how many bullets you put in it. *Due to sexual content and graphic language this book is intended for readers 18+*
